Westgate Honored as Top 100 Company
Westgate Resorts was recently honored as one of the 2012 Orlando Sentinel Top 100 Companies for Working Families. Now in its 19th year, this annual program spotlights Central Florida employers with workplace environments that recognize and strive to reach the ideal work/life balance for their employees.
More importantly, Westgate was also honored to receive the prestigious Employees’ Choice Award. This distinction is awarded annually to the one Central Florida company that best demonstrates a strong commitment to making the needs and well-being of their employees a top priority.
“We are in the business of delivering great vacation experiences to our owners and guests,” says David Siegel, President and CEO of Westgate Resorts. “And I’ve always believed that if you take care of your team, they will take care of your business.”
The winner of the Employees’ Choice Award is selected based on nominations sent in from company employees. Dozens of letters were submitted on behalf of Westgate Resorts and included the following quotes:
“Westgate is more than a company, it is a large family which I am blessed to be a part of.”
– Christina Queen, Owner Referral Department, Ocoee Call Center
“Westgate Resorts is not only a timeshare company, it is a family company that takes care of its team members in different ways and when most needed.”
– Yelssy Fragachan, Letter Group Department, Ocoee Call Center
“It is a pleasure to work for a company that concerns itself with the well-being of its team members.”
– Cesar Prada, In-House Administration, Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa
“There is so much more to life than just work. Westgate gets that!”
– Jackie Micetich, Owner Relations, Ocoee Call Center
“I am blessed and proud to work at Westgate. Our company’s team members get much more than a paycheck.”
– Bambi Yiannas, Accounts Payable, Westgate Corporate Office
An article in the Orlando Sentinel (August 5, 2012) states that Westgate Resorts was this year’s winner because of its many acts of generosity and kindness. The article went on to say that Westgate is the world’s largest privately held timeshare company employing over 5.500 people.
Despite the size of the Westgate, employees continue to marvel at the company’s family-oriented, “everybody knows your name” environment.
