Students Name Disney Top Choice for Internships
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., August 8, 2013 - A recent national survey of nearly 18,000 college students ranked The Walt Disney Company as the number one employer for undergraduates with degrees in liberal arts, humanities or education. Disney ranked second in the business and engineering category, sharing the top ten list with Google, Apple, the U.S. Department of State and Nike.
The survey was conducted by Universum, a global research and advisory firm. Of the students surveyed from more than 300 universities nationwide, nearly a quarter chose Disney as their dream company.
The list is designed to give students an idea of what companies to consider during their job search. For more than six years, American students have chosen Disney because of the focus on creativity, dynamic work, environment, company history and Cast Members.
For students, being one step closer to a dream job often begins with a professional internship. Paid professional internships gives students a hands-on, real-world work experience that helps prepare them for next steps in their careers.
One of those interns is Kimberly Berry, a recent graduate of Texas Tech University, who knew she wanted to work at Walt Disney World Resort since her first visit in 2003. Now, as a professional intern in costume design, she is realizing one of her dreams.
“I have always admired Disney’s ability to create exceptional experiences for guests through storytelling and creativity,” said Berry. “As an intern, I’m so excited to be a part of creating the magic.”
Disney professional internships give students the opportunity to learn and grow in a variety of fields such as business, design, entertainment, communications, and technology.
