Mattress Donation Assists Many in Central Florida
Simmons Bedding Company and the Westgate Resorts Foundation
Partner to Help the Needy in Central Florida
Through the hard work of Westgate Resorts’ Purchasing Department which negotiated with Westgate’s mattress vendor, Simmons Bedding Company, 142 fullsize
mattress and boxspring sets were recently donated to the Westgate Resorts Foundation.
These beds were previously installed in units at another timeshare company, but it was quickly determined that they did not meet the specs of the order. As a result, they were replaced and the foundation was the lucky beneficiary of the
“mistake.”
On April 9, the mattresses were donated to thirteen local charities for use in their facility or to give to their needy clients.
Bread of Life Fellowship, Catholic Charities, Children’s Home Society, Finding the Lost Sheep Street Ministry, Habitat for Humanity of Osceola, Intervention Services, Lutheran Services, Matthew’s Hope Homeless Resource Center, Mending Hearts Charities, New Hope for Kids, Impower, Southern Affordable Services, West Orange Habitat for
Humanity and Seminole County Schools’ Families in Transition program were the recipients.
In the words of a grateful charity representative, “Thank you so much for the mattresses! We appreciate being included as one of the benefiting organizations of your kindness. The ten mattresses we received were provided to foster kids and families. Some of them were sleeping on mats on the floor, so these were greatly appreciated! Thanks to Westgate Resorts and Simmons, they will sleep a little easier from now on.”
