Latino professionals attend annual ALPFA convention
WASHINGTON, D.C., August 2, 2013 – Latino students and professionals gathered in Washington, D.C. Aug. 2 – 7 for the 41st annual ALPFA National convention. Disney is a host sponsor of the convention and the 2014 event will be held at Walt Disney World Resort.
ALPFA provides career resources, scholarships and development opportunities for Latino students and professionals in business, finance, accounting and related fields.
“Disney’s commitment to diversity and their ongoing support of ALPFA and our convention continues to help us shape Latino business leaders,” said Manny Espinoza, CEO of ALPFA. “We are all looking forward to visiting Orlando in 2014 for our 42nd annual convention.”
Convention participants were able to attend The Disney Roadmap to Business Excellence, a Disney Institute professional workshop. Disney Casting representatives held a career workshop for students and met with conference attendees to talk about opportunities within The Walt Disney Company.
During the closing gala, Susan Egan, who played Belle on Broadway and is the voice of Meg from the Disney’s “Hercules,” performed.
