Diverse Leaders Gather to Discuss Local Growth Opportunities
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. May 8, 2013 – A small group of leaders from Central Florida’s diverse business community recently attended a luncheon hosted by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Minority Business Development, as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to diversity and business development.
“The luncheon was a chance for us to have a discussion with George Kalogridis as well as continue to strengthen relationships amongst our organizations. When our organizations work more closely together we have the potential to identify and influence opportunities for the entire Central Florida community,” said Gail Rayos immediate past president of the Asian American Chamber of Central Florida.
During the event Walt Disney World President George A. Kalogridis shared updates about Disney’s continuing support of local community initiatives and key growth initiatives at Walt Disney World Resort. Attendees also learned more about the multi-year transformation of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs.
Organizations represented at the event included the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando, the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, Bethune-Cookman University, the Florida A&M University College of Law and the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund. The Walt Disney World Minority Business Development team, which hosted the event, works to build relationships with diverse businesses and professional organizations that contribute to the economic well-being of Central Florida.
